Our Little Workers

These are our Busy Bee’s

We’ve been in love with bees for a long time and our hives are definitely a pet project. For us as home owners, future ‘farmers’, and just overall citizens of the world, we understand the importance these little bees mean to everyone.

As we increase our tree availability and as seasons continue with more flowering of the various crops we expect to have, we’ll definitely see our honey production increase as well as the pollination of more difficult varieties such as or Apple & Dragon Fruit.

The Honey our bees produce is very special to us, as bees are known to travel up to 5 miles away to gather nectar. So we want to be minimally invasive when dealing with extraction of honey and just general maintenance. At times it seems like everything from hive mites & beetles, to ants trying to steal food, and even spiders make their way towards the hive. It’s a constant process we enjoy handing.

Our hive’s current consist of two Langstroth based Flow Hive’s. Not your traditional variety of hive, it has dividers that keep us from disturbing the bees and also prevents us from wasting any of the hive’s wax during the process of honey extraction.

The hum of bees is the voice of the garden.
