We’ve been fortunate enough to be in a position to add a serious upgrade to our farm! As a registered farm with the USDA & NRCS we have been put in position to install a High Tunnel to our land so we can extend our growing seasons and help conserve water resources while growing our vegetables!
So as you can imagine there’s lots of work to be done, not only during construction of our new high tunnel but also after as we add water collection systems and irrigation to keep growth at peak performance while slowing our use of water during our seasons!
In the mean time we’re working on trying a new method of growing in a ‘back to Eden’ method of gardening on our patch to the left covered in wood chips which helps by keeping weeds from growing, feeds the soil as it decomposes, and helps introduce essential bugs and bacteria which aid soil health.
We’ve got a few varieties of vegetables sprouting at the moment and once they get large enough to transplant we’ll transfer them over to our veggie patch as we prepare the rest of the land for our new high tunnel!
